What we have happening is a server which is running php creates a string. I read that string from the cold fusion server using cfhttp. I then clean up the string to replace the line delimiters with carriage returns, and write the file locally as a text file.
One record we had was Nikola Livakovic with an accent on the c... For reviewing the import I have it output the text file on the cfm page and I get the accent showing fine. When I then have this code below read the text file to try and import the records, I get it changing the Livakovic to Livaković and the # sign seems to cause it to suggest illegal string... Do I need to match the character set of the text file / original php server output so that it reads the content correctly? <cfhttp url="http://www.domain.com/admin/import_data/reg_import2.txt" method="get" delimiter="," textqualifier="""" Name="reg_import_Query"> Thanks Colin -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ken Ferguson Sent: May 26, 2006 12:26 PM To: Dallas/Fort Worth ColdFusion User Group Mailing List Subject: Re: [DFW CFUG] Character set issues Import into what? What's the error? Are you getting a cf error from the # sign when you're doing a cffile read or are you getting an error trying to import it into your db?
