Loyd,

Give yourself a break! If you were expected to remember everything you
learned in 10 years on demand, well, then you'd be perfect I think, and I
only know one perfect person who ever lived!

Just a thought: Is there some kind of security thing in your code that is
looking at whether or not you are "authenticated" or "in the right spot"
that is then doing a cflocation automatically on you and putting you back at
the index.cfm every time?

If you have another machine, it might be worth copying it there also and
seeing if you get the same result, just to determine whether it is code
related or IIS/CF configuration related.

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Dave Phillips

Subject: [DFW CFUG] Simple Problem?

Having used CF for over 10 years I feel foolish asking this question, but I
am completely puzzled and hope someone can shed some light on what is
happening so I can get back to developing the site. I have developed sites
on my own local machine many times, but this is the first time this has
happened to me.

I have copied a working site from the server to the root directory of my
local machine's MS IIS (wwwroot). The root version of index.cfm seems to
work fine, but the links are not working on my machine as they do on the
working site. Even when I type in a path, such as
http://localhost/somedirectory/somefile.cfm, the actual file that shows up
in the browser is http://localhost/index.cfm. The URL in the address bar is
the same thing I typed in.

Anyone know what is going on here and what I need to do to correct it? I
feel like a graduate student asking how to add 2+2, but I am baffled as to
what is happening. Any help will be appreciated, and don't feel bad about
talking down to me because I certainly deserve it.

Thanks,

Loyd Campbell
