The most obvious thing that pops into my head is to check the
application.cfms -- does this code do any sort of event-mapping ala
Fusebox? That's the only reason I can think of that your site would pull up
the index.cfm regardless of the page called.

If that fails, try rebooting every computer within a 20ft radius. :)

 Loyd,

What actually happens when you click on a link. Just nothing, like they're
dead? Can you write a simple index.cfm (one that has nothing to do with
your current site), and put some links in it. Do those work, or are they
dead too?

No. That can't be it because the index page worked. ??? Hmmm....

Loyd, are you perhaps missing the :8500 after localhost (or 8080 if you're
using BlueDragon)? That could be the source of the trouble.

Having used CF for over 10 years I feel foolish asking this question, but I am
completely puzzled and hope someone can shed some light on what is happening so
I can get back to developing the site. I have developed sites on my own local
machine many times, but this is the first time this has happened to me.

I have copied a working site from the server to the root directory of my local
machine's MS IIS (wwwroot). The root version of index.cfm seems to work fine,
but the links are not working on my machine as they do on the working site.
Even when I type in a path, such as
http://localhost/somedirectory/somefile.cfm, the actual file that shows up in
the browser is http://localhost/index.cfm. The URL in the address bar is the
same thing I typed in.

Anyone know what is going on here and what I need to do to correct it? I feel
like a graduate student asking how to add 2+2, but I am baffled as to what is
happening. Any help will be appreciated, and don't feel bad about talking down
to me because I certainly deserve it.

Thanks,
