@Walt - Most of these people who write these articles usually have
either never programmed in ColdFusion, or simply read the numbers. And
yes, according to the numbers ColdFusion is lower on the totem pole. It
does not have the primary mass usage across the internet like most
others (see http://www.tiobe.com/tpci.htm which rates usage popularity
of Turing complete languages).
I program in ColdFusion for a living and like it just fine. Yes, I also
program in other languages, and no, ColdFusion was certainly not my
first. My biggest complaint about BOTH sides of this argument is the
tendency that most have to get "religious" about their stance. I've
always held the standpoint that you should use the tool that best fits
the job. I wouldn't try to write a high speed 3d gaming application in
ColdFusion. Instead I would use C. I've also written CGI application in
C, and can tell you that ColdFusion is far more adept at it!
Just my 2 cents.

My question to those of you who have dealt with CF for more years than
myself:
What's with the antagonism toward CF? The articles I've seen that say
this same thing rarely seem to use objective info to back anything up,
just ".Net and PHP have passed it by" or somesuch.
Am I missing something?
Sorry for opening this can of worms further...

When will these folks get a clue and actually research their
