FYI:
People have occasionally asked about udp under REBOL. I don't
think it's ever really been verified before, but I can report that udp
send ports do work, but udp listen ports don't seem to be alive. I used:
http://www.comsc.ucok.edu/~mcdaniel/sockets/beej/listen.c
to verify the reception of udp messages sent from REBOL.
UDP's pretty nifty because there's less overhead than TCP, but to
implement a protocol under it you have to create the packet guarantee
mechanism yourself.
Anyone have a udp protocol to implement?
I'll poke around and see what I can see on those listen ports on
monday when I'm back in the office.
