Hmm, not sure about the stats, but at my current job (bigger company, local newspaper for this region) the majority of the newsroom uses OS9. Why you ask? Because the system/app used to produce the paper runs only in the Mac/OS9 environment. Upgrade is coming, but not for at least a year+.
Unfortunately for us web dudes, we had to make sure the new site functioned well in IE5.2/OS9/Mac.
