I'd say that one-way itemized travel compensation is common.  What matters
is - however its rated - is that your total travel is properly compensated
for within your overall billing.  I consider one-way travel itemization a
sales gimmick, to make it look like the client is getting something for
free.

I find all sales gimmicks to be odd.
