I tied my cutoff switch into my now unused clutch lever. In emergency situations, when fractions of a second count, I decided I would not think fast enough to hit a button or switch somewhere off the handle bars. Squeezing the clutch in an emergency stop is a natural reflex after riding ICE motorcycles for a while. Because of this reflex, I have used it a couple of times when it wasn't necessary, but I prefer to error on the side of safety.
This isn't safety related so much but sort of along the same lines: On an ICE at low speeds you control the bike by pulling in the clutch more than turning off the throttle, and you point out, we all go for the clutch lever automatically. So I wonder if there's a way to subtract the Ohms we're putting into the controller so to speak?
I hope that came out better than I fear it did. -- The Electric Motorcycle Portal http://www.electricmotorcycles.net/ Electric Motorcycle Listserv http://www.electricmotorcycles.net/listserv.php
