Here is what I get out of the doc. You need to send the controller
a command and it will send you a response. If you want to get the
Battery voltage you need to send it
5B 04 39 00 00 98
Okay. I got the terminal apps that Phillipe suggested and they are
most helpful.
I put one (forget which) of those apps into hex mode, make sure the
program is set for the correct baud, etc and turn on the controller.
It immediately sends a string like: 00 80 00 00 00 00 00. Dunno what
ASCII 128 (hex 80) is other than one more than 127. :) Then I enter
the string from Damon's suggestion above but don't recessive anything
back.
