I have an AC4-4002 6.7 Inch motor from a Tropica that I'm putting in

Does anyone know how many RPM these can safely take at 72v?

Hi Mike,

I believe that motor is a standard ADC short 6.7 with a little
difference in the windings from an A89/A00? The important point is
that all the ADC 6.7s should have the same mechanical limits. Bill
Dube once told me they can handle over 7500 rpm with no modifications.
Getting there will depend on how much you over-volt it, which
probably *will* require modifications. (Nothing major, just paint the
brush rigging and end bell with clear epoxy.)

At 72V the only way you're going to put the motor in danger is by
running it with no load. Gearing will come down to what speed it can
pull and how fast you want to get there.

Personally I'd seriously consider an A89/A00 (wound for 36-48V) and
run it higher than 72V.
