What plans did you follow? Did you just go out buy parts and throw them
in? I need a blueprint with instructions that say insert flap a into
slot B. I figured El Ninja does something like that but I was wondering
if there is another source?

I've never seen the El Ninja book and I only know of one person who's
read it. That's Tony and he's converting a Ninja 250 using the book.
Tony has a blog on the website though life has gotten in the way of
his conversion. Hasn't it for all of us?

Personally, I knew nothing about EV's two years ago other than they
where cool and I wanted one someday. The more I looked into it the
more I liked and decided to build a bike before I built a car. Now
I'm on my second bike build and am only thinking of the car at this
point - maybe next summer.

I passed the Motorcycle Safety Foundation class many years ago and
have been a street rider and licensed racer for a few years so I
already had a cycle endorsement on my DL.

If you're not familiar with MSF it might be a good idea to become so.
I don't know how much it costs now days but when I took the class it
was $35 and you used their bikes. I can remember a couple of
incidents on the street where I'm sure that if I hadn't gone to the
class I'd be dead. Some companies will also give you a discount off
your insurance too.
