I got home today and thought I'd try to get some real data. The only hard flat surface I have is the basement, so I did a few startups down there with voltmeter and ammeter. I opened the throttle until it started moving and by the time I crossed the floor it was pretty steady-state- maybe 2 MPH. So I had 100 battery amps and 300 motor amps. I do believe if I was out on a flat long run I would be able to keep accelerating and drop the throttle back slowly to get to a reasonable amperage. I may have to trailer it over someplace and give it a shot. If nothing else it may help give me a feel for what gearing I will need. Are there any ideas on how I can translate my readings with the current setup into what gearing I will need?
