There are some strange rules in there, like limiting charging.
The charging rules look quite sensible to me. They're just laying down
minimum available charge times and setting sensible maxima. FAR more
sensible than the chaos that used to rule at EVTC events back in the 90's.
It also (correct me where wrong please) looks like bikes have to be OEM
with a VIN and so forth, no racing specials. If true, then that pretty
much kills it.
You can be your own manufacturer, they're just making sure that a machine
has an known idividual identity and you're not swapping it for another one
part way through an event. That sort of thing has happened more than once
over the years, particularly at endurance events like LeMans.
No lithium batts allowed either.
The battery list is clearly just out of date and it does state that you can
request additions. Nobody in their right mind would run a Zinc Bromine
battery again after James Worden of Solectric nearly killed himself and
poisoned several crowd members!
