Paul,

First, I can't tell you how happy I am that all of us working together --
you, me, David Turock, and Andrew Roddy, and even Chelsea Sexton behind the
scenes -- succeeded in getting you back up and running, back on the road and
the campaign trail with David's RAV4-EV! It was truly a team effort that
exemplies the best spirit of cooperation, collaboration, and camaraderie in
our EV community!

It's interesting to hear that the GM Gen 2+ charger is doing a better job of
charging David's RAV4-EV, giving it a better and fuller charge, resulting in
greater range, than his TAL did. I have often heard California RAV4-EV
drivers talk about how much better the GM Gen 2+ charger is than the TAL,
but I was never sure about it myself. I have a Gen 2+ charger installed at
Grassroots EV in Fort Pierce that I have used many times, without problem,
and it does an excellent job of charging.

Second, as for it (that GM Gen 2+ charger that I left down there at David's
place) being "MY" unit, as you referred to it, well, that *was* the case,
but you and David are now the proud owners of that unit, as David has just
bought it from me ... (at my cost, I might add; I have never made a profit
on EVers on don't intend to). If you ever have any trouble with that unit,
like if it malfunctions, stops working, whatever, just let me know, and I
will replace it with another one, free of charge.

Paul, since you live in the southern part of Florida's 22nd Congressional
District (that you are campaigning for), I know that you are be able to get
around to campaign events down there in all of Broward County without
needing an intermediate opportunity charge enroute, as long as you leave
home on a full charge. And that is even true for destinations in southern
Palm Beach County. But for you to be able to drive the RAV4-EV to campaign
events and destinations in the northern part of your district, Florida 22nd
Congressional District, which basically is northern Palm Beach County, we
are going to have to get you familiar with the few charging sites we've got
in Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach, where you will need to
opportunity charge enroute in order to make it all the way up there and back
home.

Here are two charging sites, one in Delray Beach, and another in West Palm
Beach:

1935 SW 35th Ave.
Delray Beach, FL 33445
Contact: Charles Whalen
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Tel: 561-638-6881
14-50, 40A/240V
TAL small-paddle inductive
Outside at driveway
Access: 7am-9pm, 7 days a week, other times by prior arrangement
Lat/Long coordinates: 26.43640100 -80.10820000

119 Datura Street
West Palm Beach, FL 33401
10-30, 50A/208V
10-30, 60A/208V
Outside at rear, northeast corner of building, facing parking lot
Access: 24x7
Lat/Long coordinates: 26.712169 -80.049569

The one in Delray Beach is at my house. Although I have listed access as
7am-9pm, since I know you well and am an enthusiastic supporter of your
campaign, you are obviously welcome to stop by here and charge at my place
anytime you need to, 24x7, without any prior arrangement or calling ahead.
You are always welcome here. My TAL is outside at the driveway. All you
have to do is to pull up the driveway and plug the TAL into your RAV4-EV's
charge port.

The charging site on Datura Street in West Palm Beach is in a parking lot
just off of Clematis (on the south side of Clematis), near the end of
Clematis, across the street from the public library there, and immediately
adjacent to E.R. Bradley's Saloon & Restaurant, behind the restaurant.
(Great outdoor restaurant, by the way!) You have a 10-30 plug on the end of
the 50-foot charging cable that I have lent you, so you can plug into either
of those two 10-30 outlets there. But you should first go into that shop at
119 Datura Street (if it is during business hours) and ask them for
permission to charge from those outlets on the back of the building in the
parking lot behind the shop.

By the way, as for charging at my house, as I recall, last year I measured
(on Mapquest), and subsequently verified by driving it, the distance from my
house to FAU Jupiter to be 35 miles. So 35 miles out and 35 miles back
gives a round-trip of 70 miles. That doesn't leave a whole lot of mileage
for Ride 'n Drive demos up there at this event at FAU Jupiter. I attended
this specific event last year and decided that to be safe and leave myself
plenty of margin, I would limit any Ride 'n Drive demos to 10 miles, so as
to keep my total out-and-back mileage to no more than 80 miles. (Even
though the car has a range of 120 miles, I like to be safe and limit my legs
between charges to no more than 85 miles, or 95 miles at the most, as I did
on one occasion when I took a detour to give Matt Graham a ride back home to
Hobe Sound from Fort Pierce.) So that's what I did at this event at FAU
Jupiter last year.

There are two other charging locations in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach,
respectively, that are not yet on my charging station list (which I *still*
have *yet* to get up on a website ... forever the worst procrastinator, I
am!).

The first one, in West Palm Beach, is Paul Liddle's house, the guy who
operates the EVPorsche.com business, which, by the way, I hear is going
gangbusters (which is apparently why we don't hear from him much, because he
is so busy filling orders and delivering EVs; congratulations Paul!).

Here is Paul's address and contact info:

Paul Liddle
1288 Glen Road
West Palm Beach, FL 33406
tel: 561-301-2369
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

This location, Paul's house, is just a half-mile south of Southern Blvd.,
just a quarter-mile west of I-95. This would make a perfect enroute
charging site for you. Paul Liddle and I have discussed installing an
outside 50A 240V outlet and putting it on our charging station list, which
Paul said he'd be willing to do, but we haven't gotten around to doing it
yet. Paul is a great guy, a very enthusiastic EVer, and very welcoming and
accommodating to all EVers. I have charged at his house many times, and so
has Andrew Roddy.

But all of Paul's outlets are inside his garage at present. So you need to
call ahead and make prior arrangements to charge there when Paul will be
there. He is there most of the time, other than when he is away on business
travel, as he operates his EV business out of his enormous (Jay Leno size)
garage. I forget exactly what type of receptacles Paul has for 240V
outlets. You need to check him on that. You (Paul Renneisen) have
currently got the ability to plug into 10-30, 14-50, and 14-30 receptacles.
If Paul Liddle has different types of receptacles for his 50A 240V outlets,
then you will need to stop by my place and pick up the appropriate plug
adaptor, as I have adaptors for every type of 240V receptacle known to man.
:-)

As for distances, it's 22 miles from your (Paul Renneisen's) house to my
house in Delray Beach.
It's 19 miles from my house in Delray Beach to Paul Liddle's house in West
Palm Beach.
And as I said, it's 35 miles from my house in Delray Beach to FAU Jupiter.
So it's probably about 16 miles from Paul Liddle's house in West Palm Beach
to FAU Jupiter.

Finally, the last possibility for a charging site is Andrew Roddy's house in
Palm Beach:

Andrew Roddy
231 Kenlyn Road
Palm Beach, FL 33480
tel: 561-848-3781
cell: 561-632-8378
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The only inconvenience I see with Andrew's house is that he lives on the far
north end of Palm Beach island, so after charging, you'd have to double back
and go all the way back down south to Royal Poinciana Way to get off the
island, over the bridge into downtown West Palm Beach, and then back to
I-95.

I know that Andrew has got a 50A 240V outlet, but I don't know whether it's
outside at the driveway or inside his garage, and I don't know what the
receptacle type is. So here again, you would need to contact and
pre-arrange any charging opportunity there with Andrew, find out what type
of receptacle he's got, and then if you need an adaptor for that type of
receptacle, stop by my place here and I'll lend you the appropriate adaptor
plug.

Glad to hear that the campaign is going well and fundraising is picking up.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Hope this is not getting too political for this list. I know we're not
supposed to discuss politics here. So if I've way overstepped the bounds
(probably have), let me know. It's just very exciting to have as one of our
members, and one of our most enthusiastic members at that, the first EV
driver in the history of this country to run for Congress! I've got this
stuff in my blood as my father was a 6-term Congressman from Ohio, and the
first Republican Member of Congress to come out against the Vietnam War.
(Oh well, I hope at least *that* is not controversial or too political
anymore, being ancient history from 40 years ago.)

Best regards,

Charles,
First,

I want to tell you how your efforts made a major difference for another
FLEAA member. David Turock's RAV4 is charging with an extra 10-20 miles.
Why? I don't know. But your examination and evaluation of the Magne
Charger at 3121 NE 57th Court, NOW BACK IN SERVICE, with YOUR unit, shows
that the type used by David is at least different in amount of charge it
stores. Obviously less.

Two, I want you to know that I can make the event described below with
David Turock's RAV4 EV. It WILL REQUIRE CHARGING EN ROUTE. Can we use
your station or do you recommend another?

I will have to leave early for a campaign event in Deer field on the way
back. It starts at 7:30 PM.

Several folks in Palm Beach have now followed up with checking the web
site and making contributions.

I look forward to seeing if they come through.

We are making daily, if not hourly, successes in this campaign for
Congress in the 22nd District. Mail or Act Blue contributions, either
way, it is time for folks to join in.

Let me know if we can charge en route. I will notify the school upon your
reply.

The Southern Power chargers are vastly superior in performance to the type
that David Turock is using.

For peace and prosperity,
PAUL RENNEISEN
