concerns are addressed in my design document. You may find it interesting.

Subject: [FLEAA] S-10 Conversion
Hello all:
I am ready to convert my '97 Chevy S-10 to DC and have not yet ordered any
components/kit yet. I have Googled for the best products at the most
reasonable prices, but I would really appreciate anyone's input before I order.
Specifically, I would like some opinions on the following:
1) Is it better to order separate components or a kit? One thing that I
noticed
is that most kits come with battery boxes, and I think that I may be
better
off having those fabricated or weld these myself.
2) I cannot locate any Zilla controllers -- unless I want to wait 6mo or
longer.
Is it really worth getting the Zilla for a vehicle that won't be used for
"high
performance" purposes?
3) I have heard that recharging issues can be troublesome, and that batteries
don't always recharge evenly, resulting in overcharged or even exploding
batteries. Are there any products out there (that anyone knows of) that
are
to be avoided, and/or are there certain products that one can recommend
that can limit or avoid these charging issues?
4) What brand, style, etc, of batteries do you prefer?
5) Where should I buy a kit/components from, or who should I avoid?
Any feedback would be very welcomed.
Thanks,
Evan Guttman
