No...do not connect directly to the sharepoint database...use the Object Model 
or Web Service...SharePoint databases are not like regular databases...not to 
mention they can be touchy.

I should probably add that I have got this far but am unable to determine what 
database or server address I should be suing.
 
Is there a default? I didn’t set this site up you see so I’m a little lost.

Having established that most of the MOSS files I want to edit only exist in the 
database, I am now making my first foray into this dark world with VS2005.
 
So, my silliest question yet (#3847) is: how do I connect/browse the site 
structure?
