Rather than have the 'User' as a field on your form, you can assign the value
to the 'User' field in the workflow based upon the Modified By field when the
form is submitted. This would prevent a user from impersonating another user
by entering false details on the form.

This is relatively easy to do with a SharePoint Designer workflow if you don't
want to go down the path of a coded solution using Visual Studio.

Hope this helps,
David.

Hello Paul

It is a custom list field.

The only problem with restricting the form to approvers is that the approvers
can change at a moment's notice.
If we can display the name of the 'user' who selects the 'approve' radio button
would a great improvement.

Is this a custom form (InfoPath) or a custom list field?

Easiest method is to lock down the library itself to an approved group.

If it's an InfoPath form, however, you can restrict parts of the form using
this method:

Subject: [OzMOSS] User Identification

Hello

I have a customised form with a field that allows a nominated person to select
the radio button, click OK to continue the form on its workflow.

Problem: Anyone can open the form and approve the job using someone else's name.
Example: I open a task, click the radio button approve, and put in the resource
field my manager's name.

How do I 'lock' down that radio button so the person who has selected the
approve radio button is the person whose name appears as the person who
approved it?

Hope you can help
