Beverly, Thank you so much for posting this. It is very interesting to me, because my district is establishing a brand new middle school next year, and I am to be the Title Language Arts teacher, I believe. The position is supposed to be collaborative, and I am thinking that setting up a writing lab might be a great way to be able to help the lowest writers in our school and also collaborate with all the teachers.
I ordered the suggested book about setting up a peer-tutor centered writing lab. I am hoping to approach my assistant principal with the idea next week.
