Is it possible to get a copy of that issue somehow?

Subject: [LIT] Writing Centers in Middle School?

The Nov/Dec issue of "The Clearing House: A Journal of Educational
Strategies, Issues, and Ideas" is a special issue focused on "The
Writing Center and Beyond." I found the articles interesting
discussions of the writing center at high schools and colleges. As
one of the articles indicated, implementing a writing center is being
proactive in the education crisis.

I'm wondering if there is a middle school somewhere that has opened a
writing center? I'm thinking of proposing that to my principal as a
way to strengthen "writing across the curriculum," something he is
pushing the faculty to institute. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a
clear vision of what "writing across the curriculum" would entail, so
he is pushing instead of leading, but that's another story..

To repeat my query, do you know of a middle school that has a writing
center? How is it used and how is it staffed?
