Lowis Lowry's "Giver" is a great read for 8th grade. It is the only book
I use as a grade level lit group in my multi-age class. Yes, younger kids
read it and like it but the 8th graders are more likely to "get" it!
Zusak's "The Book Thief" for you more sophisticated readers.
Cynthia Lord's "Rules"
