Seed Folk, The Tarantula in My Purse, Chicken Soup for The Pre-Teen Soul and Bronx Masquerade. Most of these books are meant to expose students to multiculturalism and if you are in a multicultural or title one school it will be high interest for the kids because it hits closer to home. Graham

Yes, younger kids read it and like it but the 8th graders are more likely to "get" it! Zusak's "The Book Thief" for you more sophisticated readers.
