If by any chance the tank is anodized they will have hard time welding it.
 As far as I know the tanks are made out of 1/16 th sheet which is very hard 
to remove the anodized hard surface, it will be a b**ch to weld.
I went to "tempo" plastic and never any problem. the cost is also 1/4 of the 
welding
price.
