How about changing the controller so that it will switch excess power to a dump
load. I don't have a reference, but I have seen 12 volt / 110 volt heating
element for a water tank so that you can put the dump load straight into the
water tank.
You said that you have four 120 watt panels. Where do you have them mounted?
I am having a hard time finding places for panels.
