Oh nooo... insurance again. Look, I don't want to rekindle any flame wars, I know there is a deep nearly-religious divide between those who self-insure and those who buy insurance, and I can see the points on each side.
But right now I would like to keep my boat insurance, and have just discovered that I can't. I had a great policy with State Farm, which covered my boat anywhere from Alaska to HI, but I've moved to BC to live aboard, and State Farm is not chartered to underwrite in BC. Their rep in Edmonton (neighbouring province of Alberta) told me sadly that they cannot renew my policies (auto or boat). Taz (the boat) is my only home at present, and I'd like to carry some kind of insurance -- maritime liability, and fire/sinking loss. I have no idea who the players are in BC and where to get a decent minimalist policy. If there are any BC liveaboarders on-list, could you advise? I do have accounts with Royal Bank, and they have an insurance department, so I've inquired there; but my quest for insurance Stateside taught me that there are enormous differences between underwriters, so it pays to shop around exhaustively. help... I wasn't expecting this :-) de _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
