Have you determined that this is engine oil from the crankshaft rear seal or transmission fluid from the tranmission front seal? Is one fluid level going down? Can you see/smell the difference?

Neal, here's something you might try. My Yanmar on a previous boat started leaking oil from the rear seal, which sounds like your problem. I tried some "oil seal stop leak". I don't remember the name, but it was in a can from an auto parts store and stated the purpose on the can. It didn't seem to work from the hour or two running out to open water. Then I made a trip down the ICW, with about 50 or 60 hours running and BINGO, no more leak!!!. I do seem to recall the instructions said it would take 20 or 30 hours. It's been almost 4 years and the new owner hasn't had the problem again. It's a lot cheaper or easier than tearing things apart to change the seal.
