I managed to light the pilot, far in the back of the oven. it burned a steady blue. ahead of the pilot, running fore and aft (the oven faces fwd in the galley) is a steel tube with fine holes in a long row down each side -- presumably the burner. Yes the pilot stays lit but the burner never lights. if I hold a match or a cig lighter to it, I get little noisy bursts of blue flame, but it never "catches" de The pilot heats up a metal "trigger" that allows the gas to flow into the burner. If the pilot were to go out, you would not have a continued flow. What comes to mind....The main valve has something blocking the flow as you say you have little bursts of blue. Secondly you may not have enough flow due to the position of the flow adjustment knob.(the big one that you would use to adjust the flow) Many have a position for starting which is basically the low setting but you have to have the knob pressed in to get that starting flow. This could be effecting you somehow. Hopefully someone out there will tell or send you the procedure from an actual Kenyon manual...all I have is a Force 10 manual......... I would be real tempted to get on several lists with the model number of my stove, or at least a description and ask specifically if someone had the manual available. One in particular that comes to mind is the Catalina s/v lists as I am remembering that they used Kenyon as standard for many years. Good luck, Carl Hibbard **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. (http://food.aol.com/dinner-tonight?NCID=aolfod00030000000001)
