You need an ATF #6 form importation of firearms by non immigrant aliens from ATFB in Washington DC.That is good for a year and when you get that in about 8 weeks you send it to OPP in Orellia and they sent you a border crossing permit. For handguns they claim that you need to belong to a club but that is not what the law requires. You can download the forms from the internet on PDF files. But you also need to have either a hunting permit for the us or an invitation for a shooting match.
