You get a new MMSI for the new boat. If you plan to operate outside
the U.S. *or* have an SSB you can get a MMSI that is tied to your boat
documentation by checking a box on the FCC station license
application, if I recall correctly. Otherwise you can get a MMSI from
BoatUS online.

Note that some radios limit the number of times you can enter a MMSI;
some limit you to three times, some to one. To change the MMSI after
that you need to ship the radio to a service center.
