I want to add a pressure accumulator tank to our existing fresh water
system on board for the usual reasons. Since we have plenty of room,
I can either add a 6Gal tank from a farm supply company (made of
painted steel alas) for about $45, or I can spend about 50% more for a
1 liter jabsco marine tank which hardly seems large enough.

We shower aboard, and the current system has hot/cold surging, which
is the main thing I am trying to fix. Would the 1 liter tank be
sufficient? The painted steel farm supply tank can be mounted in a
secure, safe location, with good spray protection in case of a burst
hose or something, so I am not too worried about corrosion. (It's not
like I don't have a lot of other bits in the engine room I have to
inspect for rust. ) I just like to spend as little money as I can,
and 1.6 gal drawdown vs about 500ml drawdown, for less money, seems
more useful.

Or am I missing something? Thanks for any and all input.
