Phil,

gasoline here in Turkey is at european cleanliness standards. Probably true in any EU country, but may want to be more wary in other Non EU countries / northern africa countries

No ethanol here unless you ask for it.

But be prepared to pay something around $9/gal.

And while Honda's are all around here, competent mechanics are usually only in the major marine cities...

Fuel seems to last 6+ months in protected fuel tanks kept out of the sun without having a need for an additive...

Hi All,
We are contemplating replacing our twin diesels with a 15 HP Honda 4 stroke. Weight considerations on our small cat and unavailability of parts for our worn out 25 YO sail drives are at the core of our decision. However i am really concerned about the adulteration of gasoline with ethanol. Problems I have heard about include short storage life and, with the higher ethanol content blend E20, engine problems. Honda specifically states that their warranty will not apply if over 10% ethanol blend is used.

We are planing a cruise to the Med and I fear the worst on the fuel front. Any first hand info on the subject? Storage life? Additives? Tank and fuel line considerations?

Thanks
