Hi All,
We are contemplating replacing our twin diesels with a 15 HP Honda 4 stroke. Weight considerations on our small cat and unavailability of parts for our worn out 25 YO sail drives are at the core of our decision. However i am really concerned about the adulteration of gasoline with ethanol. Problems I have heard about include short storage life and, with the higher ethanol content blend E20, engine problems. Honda specifically states that their warranty will not apply if over 10% ethanol blend is used.

We are planing a cruise to the Med and I fear the worst on the fuel front. Any first hand info on the subject? Storage life? Additives? Tank and fuel line considerations?

Thanks

Phil I would suggest A Tohatsu 15, The quality is the same and in a much
more reasonable price. Easier to service. As for ethanol there is not much in Europe. We use corn for food not fuel. But to be in the safe side use Sta-Bil etanol treatment.
