If I recall correctly the livecd will start up with DHCP.
For LFS server purposes this isn't going to work because it has static IP addresses and no DHCP is available at the data centre.
How hard would it be to modify the livecd so it's able to check for network config files and use them rather than dhcp? I'd like to use a livecd as a rescue CD and leave it at the data centre. That requires one modification: a static IP address and automatically starting of sshd (I know that was disabled by default). They can then insert livecd, boot up, and I can access it remotely, fix the harddrives, and done. Right now it would require inserting CD and then have staff on-site login as root to do a few things before I can get access to it.
