Viewed in terms of "encodings", the binary encoding, which uses the
terminology used in the specification, describes messages as they
appear on the wire in binary formatted LLRP.
The xml encoding is what has been called the "abstract." It is an
alternative encoding (though not standardized) so I think this a good
name. It describes the schema for a natural XML representation of LLRP
which matches the binary form closely while leaving out some details
like "length fields" and translates numeric IDs to names from the
specification.
