haha ! I knew you'd say that ;)

automation is added  through the mixer using the available mechanisms. 
all you need is a single automation editor pane at the bottom of the 
mixer that would display the edit points used by whatever entry is 
selected in the mixer pane. you dont need to see every I/O automation 
graph at the same time... just add cut/copy/paste and you're done ;)

for audio tracks i agree the current system is fine. would love it also 
for midi too of course..

Tim, just try using MusE with 24 midi tracks, 32 audio tracks and 4 soft 
synths, 8 inputs, 32 outputs - it's just unmanageable.

It makes sense to strip some of this stuff out imho.

good that we can at least hide track types now.
