Yahoo Groups's archives are an appalling adfest, IMO. So much so that it interferes with reading them. Not only that yahoo have a rather dodgy privacy policy which has attracted a lot of criticism (essentially they decided to reset everyone's account into "spam me, please" mode). > My gut feeling is to use a perl based system - such as (I think) majordomo. > However I don't even thing that is what this mailing list uses does it? majordomo is old & crufty & not maintained. It also doesn't have an integrated archive, nor web-based admin. Which may or may not matter to you... I'd strongly recommend mailman: http://www.list.org/ although ezmlm may be worth a look too: http://www.ezmlm.org/ or http://www.uk.ezmlm.org/ (which was worse than the US East Coast site; go figger.) You need qmail for ezmlm, apparently: ``Ezmlm and ezmlm-idx cannot run without qmail properly installed on the server where ezmlm is to be installed.''
