I would prefer it to include multiple editors. Eg the 5 most used. Personally I rarely use vi (mainly to configure an ip on CentOS after installation), but I use other text editors. All options have good and bad points if you ask me.

Actually, I think I found a "new" platform where vi (or vi-style controls) could really shine.

And that's the touchscreen on modern tablets/phones. Of course not for everyone, but for sysadmins already knowing their way around it...

Just a thought.
