This is a more sensible solution. One might argue however which
certifications will be acceptable and which not.

Instead, why can't we practice what we preach and adopt the bazaar [1]
approach?

Why can't we put learning materials on the wiki and let the community
fix bugs whenever they are found out?

After all, "given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow".
