Well, I am in no official position at LPI, but it seems reasonable to
me that any time we may spend discussing L3 objectives on this list
might be useful when LPI is ready to move forward in L3 financially.
So, lets discuss some things.

I think it is a bit early to try to figure objectives for each
topic-specific exam, so let's start by discussing topics that we feel
are large/important enough to merit an L3 exam.

Some ideas:

* Security - there is already a list for this (a mostly inactive list)
* Kernel internals - I'm a big fan of this one
* Software Design - making software that configures, compiles, installs
  like standard software.  Perhaps using open source widget libraries. 
* Hardware/software interfacing & Device drivers - This is probably
  beyond LPI's scope, but might include basic hardware design (USB,
  serial, PCI) and how to get information from such a device
