Don't assume I don't run NetBSD as well.  ;)
In fact, I made generic reference to "ports" and BSD.
My greater point was the "ports" approach.

Again, my sole point (before some started "distro pissing") was that
there can be objectives to map to things that never make it into the
exam objectives, and the "ports" type approach is popular in addition
to "packages."  That's all.

It seems too many other people seem interested in pointing out why
their distro "rules."  The ultimate irony is that I work for a major
distro vendor who doesn't use a "ports" approach, and I said I don't
support much, yet I'm finding myself defending them because
enterprises do use them.

Sad.
