The comments get downloaded along with the exam results and are looked at during exam rotation/updates. Unfortunately, if a defect slips through, it sticks around for a while. Publishing exams with Vue and Prometric is probably one of the largest annual expenses for LPI. Once you multiple the number of exams (now at 6) times the number of languages that the exams are available, it isn't an insignificant cost. Emergency republished are only done when absolutely needed.
