We do something similar, but it is not for the end users.  Our script is
for the lab consultants and admin to manage the print jobs in the queue.
You can see a static snapshot of the one of the pages at:

There are several buttons and links on that page for controlling the queue
and the jobs in the queue.

I can post the perl script which generates this if you're interested.
