I have a bit of a problem and was hoping someone on the list could give
me some pointers.
The situation is like this: I have a workstation with Debian GNU/Linux
and lprng 3.8.15-1. The printer is connected to a remote system and my
printcap refers all printjobs to that system (a Solaris8 box). Nothing
special here.
As a matter of fact the printing itself is just fine, but when I look at
the logs of the printserver I see that my system tries to connect to it
just about once a second.
By default all lines in my /etc/lprng/lpd.conf are commented out.
However I tried several settings after reading TFM, but nothing I tried
made it stop. I am sure I must be overlooking something simple, but
what?
Here's a small sample of the lines the remote syslog:
