Mind you, it is the toner that costs. The paper is a giveaway compared to the cost of toner. That is why you count impressions rather than sheets.
Actually, it's worse than that (since we're getting into the details). If you're required to recover all of your costs, it's the printers and the servers and the salaries and the overhead. I'm rather fond of my paycheck. :-)
