Hi all!
We're investigating the whether the recent cheap colour laser printers
would be usable in our environment. We're a computer club with rather
tight economy, and our members doesn't print that many pages so
mechanically a cheap printer should do.
The problem is accounting, since we're currently using lprng and ifhp
we'd like to avoid involving CUPS, foomatic and stuff if it's
possible.
Printers we've been looking at includes:
HP Color LaserJet 2500n (seems sloow at colour printing)
OKI C5300N (has got good reviews)
OKI C7300n (seems to be a more serious model with a decent pricetag).
None of these seems to be supported by the current ifhp version, but
since they're PS printers that shouldn't pose any problem.
What's worse is that I haven't found any information about the
accounting abilities.
So, any ideas or suggestions regarding el cheapo colour laser printers
with known working accounting in conjunction with lprng? The only
additional requirement is that the printer has to have an ethernet
connection.
