Speaking from no experience: Why not if you use switches? or Why not
use two or three subnets with 80 or 55 computers in each, if that
splitting the load on two/three servers gives reasonably load-average?

That requires no traffic between clients and server will go through
that 386 router since it will be limited to ISA cards = 10Mbit, which
is approximately enough for just a few clients.

And/or let the display manager on one server offer logins at the

That could be rather a lot of servers to administrate, but those
youngster can probably put the servers to work hard, so it might be
needed.
 
ulimit or something like that could be helpful here.
