Test dhcp: Dunno. Perhaps you could test its function with
  ifconfig eth0:1 up
  dhcpcd eth0:1
But didn't do this yet.

Test tftp (download of kernel.nbi):
Use the tftp command (manpage tells you more).
tftp localhost:/vmlinuz.nbi or so should get you that file (into the
current directory)

Test NFS (for root mount):
mount -t nfs localhost:/opt/ltsp/i386 /mnt -o ro

Test X: That is tricky. I think it wants you to connect from a
non-local IP-Address. But you could try using the non-loopback IP of
your computer.

X -query 10.17.25.138

(when X is correctly setup to run)
