Im interested in this as well. I dont think that the
type of video card has anything to do with it.

I checked /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and found that it did
not have the Font stated at [greeter], so I added
this:

Font=-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal-*-*-180-*-*-*-*-*-*

Unfortunatelly, I dont see any difference when
changing the 180 to 90 or 360, is it being ignored?

Im using the latest ltsp 3 on rh8, and tested GDM
regular login and graphic login, changeable at
gdmsetup &, General tab.
