In my experience there are two things you should do:
Number one, download atftp (search freshmeat for it) it is a much better
implementation of the protocol than the one usually shipped (downside,
it is not pxe compatible).
Also install the clusterNFS packages, even if you are not clustering
NFS, they are far more stable than the normal nfs packages, and in my
experience they solve a lot of common problems with nfs.


Be sure to have an indepth look at your dhcp and tftp config files while
you are at it, and make sure that you /etc/exports is set up without
trying to share symlinks (which require a nasty bit of reconfig on
redhat).
