Etherboot process stops when trying to download the kernel.
I am running K12LTSP 4.0 (Fedora core 1 with LTSP 4.0). This has two cards on to connect to outside network (and internet) and one for client terminals.
I am trying to boot from clients with 3Com Etherlink III (3c509) cards.
I am using a boot floppy that I got from ROM O matic.
The client gets to the following stage:-
Me: 192.168.0.251, Server: 192.168.0.254, Gateway 192.168.0.254 Loading 192.168.0.254:/lts/vmlinuz.ltsp .........
The dots keep getting added then after a long time it says time out.
On the server the messages look like this:-
May 16 12:06:12 server dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:60:97:c7:31:02 via eth0 May 16 12:06:13 server dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.0.251 to 00:60:97:c7:31:02 via eth0 May 16 12:06:13 server dhcpd: Wrote 0 deleted host decls to leases file. May 16 12:06:13 server dhcpd: Wrote 0 new dynamic host decls to leases file. May 16 12:06:13 server dhcpd: Wrote 3 leases to leases file. May 16 12:06:13 server dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.0.251 (192.168.0.254) from 00:60:97:c7:31:02 via eth0 May 16 12:06:13 server dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.0.251 to 00:60:97:c7:31:02 via eth0
If I try to ping this IP address I get the following:-
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# ping 192.168.0.251 PING 192.168.0.251 (192.168.0.251) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 192.168.0.99 icmp_seq=0 Destination Host Unreachable From 192.168.0.99 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
How come it says "from 192.168.0.99" (That is the ip address of Eth1 which connects to the outside network.)
What is wrong? Any tips how to get the kernel to load?
