I have done a fresh install the K12LTSP distribution.
This time I left all the default settings the etherboot is starting to
work now, but now I cannot access the internet thru the network gateway
as I could b4.
The school network is 192.168.0.1 gateway. As it is for standard Windows
internet connection sharing setup. (Our gateway is running vector Linux
with Samba 2.x connecting thru PP0.) I have put fixed IP addresses for
all the computers so I can keep track of them easier. (i.e. if I can't
see the computer name I can check if I can ping the IP address.)

LTSP defaults to 192.168.x also.

How should I change the network settings to allow both the LTSP network
and get internet access from those computers also.

It is easy enough for me to change the IP addresses for the school
network. I think this would be simpler than changing the LTSP settings.
We only have about 7 computers outside our LTSP group.

Although I managed to set up the Vector Linux computer as the gateway, I
very much a newbie and don't understand workgroups domains etc. I am
also not very good on Samba and shares etc.

Further assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I am also having difficulties when the kernel on the client tries to
boot and fails, but I will save that for another mail with more detail.

It sounds like a routing problem to me. You shouldn't have eth0 and eth1
belonging to the same network segment, unless you bridge them.

What are the addresses of eth0 and eth1?
